Our Tutor Program:
Culpeper Literacy Council is a non-profit organization that relies almost entirely on its volunteers. Tutors are needed in all basic education and GED subjects including: reading, writing, science, social studies and math. Tutors who are interested in working with our ESOL students (English for Speakers of Other Languages) are also needed. Classrooms and tutor rooms are available at the Culpeper Literacy Council office for tutors to schedule based on their availability. In addition, online resources and educational materials are provided to all tutors.
To become a volunteer at Culpeper Literacy Council simply give us a call (540.825.5804) or send an email to: info@culpeperliteracy.org. If you want to volunteer in the office or with a CLC fundraiser, you do not need to go through CLC's New Tutor Training. Tutor training is required for all CLC tutors. New Tutor Training is offered twice a year (Spring and Fall), and continued professional development training and workshops are scheduled throughout the year as a vital part of our growing program.
CLC's Fall New Tutor Training took place on October 22, 2011. If you missed it but are interested in becoming a tutor at Culpeper Literacy Council, please consider signing up for the Spring 2012 workshop (as yet to be scheduled).
